Why Boosting Glutathione is important in Fighting Morgellons Disease 1/24/2021

For nearly twenty years I operated a stress management center between 1979 to the late 90's. An important part of managing stress is to deal with the nutritional stresses on the body. I would encourage my clients to move away from sugar laden processed foods to healthy fruits and vegetables. When it came to supplements, it was basically multivitamins and Vitamin C. For common colds I used 8,000 mg of Vit C, Vit A and zinc.

I only learned of glutathione many years later at a most opportune time. I was in my early 60's and Lyme disease was crippling me. Mentally, I thought my life was coming to an end. It was bitter sweet to have finally beaten skin parasites only to lose to Lyme disease. Coincidentally, one of the people suffering from Morgellons called me to tell me that glutathione cured her Morgellons and she sent me a bottle of an earlier version of MaxOne and asked me to try it hoping it would help others like herself.

I had nothing to lose and started using it expecting nothing to happen regarding my physical condition of ongoing 24/7 pain and inflammation. It was a month's supply and don't know how it happened that I had a second month's supply but was amazed that after six weeks, my pain and inflammation had improved dramatically.

I suddenly had a thirst for knowledge about this substance called glutathione. Why had I never heard of it before since it's in every cell of our bodies.

I was so impressed that I sponsored a study among many suffering from Morgellons. After about six months it was clear that boosting glutathione was significantly valuable in getting our lives back from Morgellons. During this time my research found that while there are around 40,000 studies regarding the importance of vitamin C and everyone knew about vitamin C, there are over 80,000 studies reported in Pubmed about the value of glutathione but it was hush hush. Doctors, nutritionists, and health experts were not talking about it. Why?
I believe that the answer was that no one really knew much about how to increase levels of glutathione in the body except for using NACC, N-Acetylcysteamine which for various reasons was haphazard. There are glutathione supplements available in the health food store. But, my research found that when taken as a supplement, the large glutathione tri-peptide molecule of regarded as food and much of it is digested in the stomach and never makes it into the blood stream.

So, I surmise since boosting glutathione is not easy like taking vitamin C, it's largely ignored because health professionals simply don't know how to address the issue.

So, why was glutathione making such a big difference in my body and those in the Morgellons trials? My research found that glutathione is naturally made in the body from the combination of three proteins, l-cysteine, glycene, and glutamine to form what is called a tri-peptide molecule. And, for various reasons, creation of glutathione diminishes about 10% each decade after age 20. Research also showed that glutathione is used up with:
► exposure to radiation
► physical injury or illnesses
► poor eating habits
► lack of sleep
► many over medications including over counter acetaminophen
► over exercising
► aging
► pollution

► alcohol, drugs, smoking,

When glutathione is depleted, it can result in an unlimited of health problems
► All auto immune disorders
► Autism
► Heart disease
► Macular degeneration
► Lyme disease
► Morgellons disease

in fact, any disease involving inflammation and that's a factor in every disease to one degree or another.
So what is the function of glutathione in the body? It:
► is the body's main anti inflammatory agent.
► enables hemoglobin to carry more oxygen
► protects our DNA from free radical damage that can rewrite our genetic code. Morgellon's disease rewrites our genetic code.
► detoxifies our cells from chemicals, pesticides, heavy metals such as nickel, lead, cadmium, and so on
► modulates the mitochondria in the cellular network.
► recycles Vitamin C - an antioxidant that inhibits peroxidase free radical damage to the DNA
► vitamin A, C, E and alpha lipoic acid can not pass into the cell membrane and be fully metabolized without sufficient amounts of glutathione present in the cell.

What does all this mean? First of all, if you research Lyme disease, you'll find that Lyme disease thrives on toxicity. It loves to be in a cesspool, so to speak. Glutathione detoxifies your cells and takes away what the Lyme disease loves. To put this in perspective, if you were poisoned by arsenic and taken to the hospital, the first thing they would do would be to give you a shot of glutathione to detox the arsenic. Many progressive doctors use EDTA therapy to detox the body. It's a treatment done about once a week for up to ten weeks where you sit in a chair and the EDTA is administered through your veins. Before undergoing EDTA therapy, why not boost glutathione and most likely you'll get the same result.

Glutathione is an anti inflammation agent. There are dozens and dozens of anti inflamatory agents and herbs. Another Morgellons protocol recommends SOD as an anti inflammatory agent. Superoxide dismutase is an enzyme anti inflammatory and deals with peroxide radical. Given the choice between the two, I go the route of boosting glutathione because it also protects against free radical damage and does so much more than SOD. But, if affordable, certainly can be a useful supplement. Omega fatty acids are also anti inflammatory agents, but are not compatible with the King DietSM. But instead of starting with all the other anti-inflammatory agents, glutathione is also known as the body's major anti inflammatory as I experienced when I got relief from the inflammation from Lyme disease. Even our cistus tea, among being an antibacterial, anti viral, and anti fungal, is also an anti inflammatory agent.

When the body is depleted of oxygen, it's not a pretty picture. Glutathione boosts the ability of hemoglobin to carry oxygen. It's like running your engine on a super fuel.

Free radical damage means that the DNA in your cells is being chewed up and rearranged. When the cell replicates, it won't be the same. It will be morphed into something else that doesn't do the job it was created to do. Morgellons disease is capable of rewriting the DNA in our cells to produce alien cells that in turn replicate more alien cells. One study cited in my book, glutathione was found to inhibit Morgellons disease.

Mitochondra are described as the furnaces of the cell. They create the energy of the cell and there are thousands of them. One reference describes them as friendly viruses. If the mitochondria are sluggish, the cell is inhibited. If the mitochondria burn out of control, the cell dies prematurely. Glutathione modulates the mitochondria to optimize their function.

Linus Pauling, Nobel Prize winner, had suggested boosting vitamin C to the point of 8,000 mg per day to deal with with infections. It's obvious this great mind was ignorant of the function of glutathione. With sufficient glutathione, only 300 mg/day of Vit C is required.

Now. the big question is how to get supplement glutathione in the body? Actually, that turns out to be an impractical goal. The answer is not how to supplement, but instead how to create glutathione in the body. Again, the three amino acids are glutamine, glycine, and L-cysteine. Bothe glutamine and glycine are in amply supply intracellularly, but l-cysteine is the limiting molecule. It's found in various foods such as pork, beef, chicken, fish, lentils, oatmeal, eggs, low-fat yogurt, sunflower seeds, and swiss cheese, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and Brussels sprouts, asparagus, potatoes, peppers, carrots, avocados, squash, spinach, and melons.

But as with most substances, you'd have to eat a ton of those foods to get sufficient L-cysteine. You can also buy L-cysteine as a powder, but for some reason it doesn't get into the cellular structure. As I noted with glutathione supplements, they are largely digested by the digestive tract and may result in an increase of 20 to 30% increase in glutathione. There is a whey based product that increases glutathione levels dramatically but whey will feed skin parasites. There are lipsomal glutathione supplement but they have ingredients that feed skin parasites, and there's nano glutathione that we have in our store. You use a dropper to put under your tongue for 90 seconds where it's absorbed or you can apply a drop onto a lesion. Again, the ingredients are not compatible with the diet and you'd need to spit it out after 90 seconds which you can do. Fortunately, the company that produced the supplement I initially used developed an improved one - MaxOne. This formulation is not a glutathione supplement, but instead a glutathione boosting supplement. It's a combination of a rare sugar, D-ribose, and L-cysteine bonded together such that they pass the digestive system and go direct into the cells themselves. Now, this rare sugar, D-Ribose, just happens to be the natural sugar that feed the mitochondria supporting the production of ATP. "Adadenosine triphosphate is an organic compound and hydrotrope that provides energy to drive many processes in living cells, such as muscle contraction, nerve impulse propagation, condensate dissolution, and chemical synthesis." Wikipedia

Isn't this amazing. We start wanting to produce and the byproduct is an increase of ATP. And, yes, the L-cysteine that comes along with the D-Ribose allows the cell to create glutathione so it can do all the fantastic things it does.
